5G is a popular feature for the iPhone 12 and 13, but it’s not yet readily available to everyone.

Apple’s latest iPhones – IPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max – are able to connect. 5G wireless networks, Much like IPhone 12. This means that if your carrier has 5G coverage where you live or work, you should look for faster and more reliable connections. But that doesn’t always happen. You may find that your iPhone 13 is constantly switching between LTE and 5G and refusing to send messages or refresh your favorite app, or that battery life is not exactly the same as LTE Is on Disappointingly, you may not be on the right price plan to access the new network, and you may not want to go to the level of a new network. In other words, for you, This may not be the right time for 5G Yet

Fortunately, Apple has given you control over your phone’s 5G connection. With just a few taps you can disable the new feature, or how and when it is used for tasks such as downloading updates.

Clearly, Apple has a smart data feature in your new iPhone’s software that only uses a 5G connection when you’re doing something you need to do – such as streaming video or Playing games on a cellular connection. Switching between LTE and 5G connections in the background is intended to extend the battery life of the iPhone 13. So the reduction in battery life you experience may be negligible. I have not been able to personally test the difference because I do not have 5G coverage.

That said, if you don’t want or need your phone to connect to a 5G network, you can disable 5G with just a few taps on your iPhone’s screen.

You don’t have to do much to turn 5G on or off, but you should know a lot.

How to turn off 5G on iPhone 13

Open up Setting Go to the app again Cellular > Cellular data options > Voice and data And tap LTE. Your phone will then turn off its 5G connection, (sometimes) returning to a slow LTE connection. You can always turn on 5G again whenever you want, or by repeating and selecting the steps above when the service improves in your area. 5G auto. Or if you don’t want your iPhone 13 to use Apple’s Smart Data mode, you can select it and force it to always use a 5G connection when it’s available. 5G on.

If you decide to leave your iPhone 13’s 5G connection to 5G Auto, it’s a good idea to double-check this setting.

Go to Setting > Cellular > Cellular data options > Data mode On your iPhone There you will find three different options on how aggressive your iPhone will be in that it allows apps and services to use your 5G connection.

This is the easiest way to configure your iPhone 13.


For example, with Allow more data on 5G. Once selected, your FaceTime and streaming video will come in “high quality” and your phone will also allow you to download future iOS updates over a 5G connection.
