Wisconsin man arrested for double murder in Algonquin

A man wanted for the murder of two people was arrested in the northern suburb of Algonquin on Thursday in Wisconsin.

Algonquin police said in a statement that Maxim Barnoff, 36, was arrested without incident at a home in Salem, Wisconsin, around 6:45 a.m.

Police said he was charged with two counts of concealing a murder in the deaths of two people found Wednesday in a home at 400 Block on La Fox River Drive. The other charges against him are pending.

The cause of death has not been determined, but police said they are investigating the case as a house-related double murder. The two victims were not identified.

Barnoff was in the custody of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and awaiting extradition.
