[PRESS OFFICE] About 3.5 billion people use social media daily. This equates to an incredible 45% of the world’s population; 73% of marketers believe that social media has influenced the promotion of their brand in addition to increasing sales. And 54% of customers use social media to research products before they buy something.
These are just three of the statistics that show what impact social media has on the world and what important telecommunications equipment it is.
By spending an average of three hours a day on social media, you are assured that you will find at least part of your audience on social media at any time of the day. And since most of them research products, you need to make sure your products are on social media in order to be found.
You need a plan
It’s not enough to open an account and then publish a few things here and there. “Actually,” says Lisa Schneider, executive director of the Digital School of Marketing, “you will do more harm than good with this method.”
If you are inconsistent on social media and do not properly describe the voice of your brand, you will not attract the perfect customer. Remember that the person browsing their social media clicks through your post and your website because they are interested in what you have to say and who you are. “So if what you post on social media is not in line with your website, then you remove these visitors,” Schneider continues.
So before you embark on your journey on social media, put together a strategy. This does not have to be a 100 page document (in fact it should not be because people will not read it) but it does need to explain your way forward.
Choose the right social media
Many marketers and business owners give up on social media because they think it does not work. However, nine times out of 10, the reason it does not work is that the wrong social media has been chosen for the company. For example, if you are a B2B brand, you should focus on LinkedIn. However, B2C brands should look to invest heavily in Facebook and Instagram.
As a business, you can not afford not to be on social media – here are your customers. However, if you want to see tangible results on social media, then you need to have a solid strategy and create compelling content.
