Red Sox pop champagne bottles after defeating Rays at ALDS to advance to ALCS.

But before their big celebration, Red Sox manager Alex Cora had something to say.

“To be in this position is a testament to your character, not only as players but also as individuals,” Cora told Red Sox players and club staff.

“From day one, you guys have believed in this group. Not many people believed outside of this scary club. But here we go. ALCS! On to the next!” Cora finished before he and the rest of the team brought out their champagne.

The Red Sox’s win over ALDS comes after Cora was suspended for the 2020 season due to his involvement in the Astros signal-stealing scandal.

Now in his third year as Red Sox manager, Cora has built an impressive resume. He has won all four match series he has managed, including the 2018 World Championships. Additionally, she is unbeaten in back-to-back matches as a coach, going 5-0.
