Washington DC shooting: manhunt launched with two injured – general escape scene filmed | world | News

Eyewitnesses in the 14th Street NW area saw someone in a black sedan shooting toward the curb.

Footage of the incident shows people fleeing from outside cafe tables when gunshots are heard.

The Metropolitan Police Department released a statement regarding the incident on their Twitter account.

They wrote: “They shot at the intersection of 14th Street/Riggs, NW.

Lookout of a B/M man in a lime green/yellow hoodie flees in an old black Honda Civic with DC cards last seen eastward toward S Street, NW.

A witness reported seeing paramedics take a man with “what looks like a bullet in the chest” from Mexico City, a restaurant in the area.

Then the ambulance crew was said to have “carried him in an ambulance”.

They tweeted: “Another man on the street also appears to have been shot. A frightening night on one of the busiest streets in the capital.”

CNN anchor Jim Acosta uploaded a video interview with a man who claimed to have witnessed the accident.

In the video, the man said, “So, I was detailing. We just finished at eight – it was probably like 8.05.”

“A lot of people were shocked for about five seconds until they realized what was happening. But at the same time it happened in less than a minute.”

He added: “The man who was shot, I saw him running back and forth.”
