US stock futures are poised to open slightly higher on Monday

• US stocks are scheduled to open slightly higher on Monday. On Sunday night, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 89 points, or 0.25%, while S&P 500 futures were up 0.19%, and Nasdaq composite futures were up 0.33%. Another 160 companies on the S&P 500 reported earnings this week, including:

This week is noteworthy Economic events Include: On Monday, the Census Bureau released construction spending data for September. The Institute of Supply Management releases its manufacturing PMI for October on Monday and its services PMI on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, the Federal Open Market Committee concluded its October monetary policy meeting, and is widely expected to announce that it will begin reducing its monthly asset purchases of $120 billion. On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will release job numbers for October and the unemployment rate.
