Updates after a girl was stabbed in a downtown attack

A large police presence was deployed on one of Liverpool’s busiest shopping streets this evening after a girl was stabbed.

A number of streets off Church Street were recorded, with officers placing a wide collar between TK Maxx and Primark. Witnesses said that five police cars were in attendance.

In photos from the scene, officers can be seen standing and watching on the street with police tape blocking a wide area of ​​the public. The scene is close to the large Christmas tree on the street, which was lit up for the festive season earlier this evening.

The police confirmed that a girl was stabbed and that she was in trouble critical condition in hospital.
