Two Students Arrested for Bringing a Loaded Firearm to East Lee County High School – Published Reporter®
Lee County, Florida About 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, a teacher at East Lee County High School received an anonymous alert about a student who may have been in possession of a firearm in class. Investigators at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office of Youth and Criminal Investigations Services responded immediately and took up the investigation.
Representatives contacted Tra’Quincia Fuller, 17, and found a gun in her backpack. During the investigation, investigators learned that another student, Devon Harris Jr., 17, had put the gun in Fuller’s backpack.
“Potential tragedy was prevented today thanks to ‘Look, say it, make the call.’” Sheriff Carmine Marcino said, “I am proud of the student who reported this loaded weapon on campus. “Our Youth Services and Criminal Investigations departments immediately jumped into action and arrested the students responsible.”
Harris and Fuller were both arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on the school grounds. Both were transported and handed over to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
