Earlier on Friday morning, police tweeted that there was an ongoing situation involving armed officers in Almelo and warned the public to stay away.
It remains unclear exactly how the two victims died, with some reports suggesting that they were stabbed rather than shot with a crossbow.
Later in the morning, police confirmed that a third person had been injured and officers arrested a suspect at the scene as well.
A “GRIP-3” emergency has also been declared, allowing emergency services to work more closely together to respond to the incident and signal a threat to the general population.

What sounds like a gunshot can also be heard and then the man goes back inside his apartment. Pictures from the scene of the accident were also published on the Internet showing arrows lying on the road and police officers marking them with cones and duct tape.
