Twin sisters, 18, shot in execution appear live on Instagram in terrifying outpouring
Since then, footage of the shooting has been viewed thousands of times. The Daily Star reports.
The two women, both mothers, were locally named Amália and Amanda Alves.
The bodies of the young women were unfortunately found only hours after they were murdered on the side of a road behind a real estate complex in Bajajos, Brazil.
Amanda Alves left behind a three-year-old daughter, while her twin sister, Amalia Alves, became the mother of a six-month-old son.
A teen suspect in the case has been arrested on suspicion of having a bloodbath and Mateusz Abreu, only 17, is being questioned by the police.
The video captured the horrific last moments of the two sisters kneeling next to each other on the dirt road.
Reports say the couple were forced to collect their hair in a bun before Abreu allegedly took the gun to the back of their skulls and fired the fatal shot.
He was then accused of firing two more shots at one of the sisters before standing on top of the other victim and firing four more shots at her limp body.
Although Brazilian officials have yet to reveal a specific motive for the street executions, the local newspaper, Journal de Brasilia, reported that the reason was that the sisters knew “a lot” about incidents involving local drug dealers.
Locals living in the area madly called the police after the bodies were found in the same spot where they were killed.
The Brazilian newspaper, Diario do Norrest, said in a report that the teen suspect had been subjected to seven previous arrests.
The charges included unlawful possession of a handgun, theft and intentional bodily injury in 2020 and this year.
It comes just one month after a family of four was brutally murdered in the South American country.
Police have identified Lazaro Barbosa as a suspect in the horrific case where a father and his two sons, ages 15 and 21, were murdered in their home before his wife was kidnapped and found dead three days later.
