Tottenham will play Harry Kane due to new contract requirements

After admitting defeat in his attempts to leave Tottenham this summer, Harry King He faces another battle with the club over a new contract.

Kane wants an improved deal to reflect his £160m valuation Manchester He’s never come close to meeting over the course of this summer’s biggest transfer saga.

The England captain pays a salary of around £400,000 a week to bring him closer to the Premier League Premier LeagueTop-earning winners Kevin De Bruyne, David de Gea and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, although negotiations are not expected to be straightforward.

Spurs are reluctant to give Kane a promotion while they still have three years to go on a six-year contract he signed in 2018 and have been hugely disappointed with his attempts to move to City this summer.

The club is preparing to take another tough stance with its talisman, after it backed away from a £100m bid from City and refused to hold talks with the champions.

Kane’s camp could also try to introduce a discharge clause into a new contract to give him an easy escape route in the future, although Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has historically avoided such clauses and is likely to be reluctant to agree to a move that would take negotiations out of his hands.

Levy wants Kane to extend the term of any contract as part of the negotiations, which could lead to Kane being linked with Tottenham for the rest of his career while maintaining the club’s influence if he pushes for another move.

The chairman also prefers a decade that is highly motivated with rewards for individual and team successes.

Kane comfortably earns upwards of £200,000 a week, but believes his wages do not reflect his importance to the club nor his valuation. Tanguy Ndombele, for example, earns £200,000 a week, but this summer Tottenham are hoping to recoup the £55m they spent on a club record signing.

New signings Pierluigi Giulini, Christian Romero and Brian Gill are set to start again, while Heung-Min Son is in despite his hamstring sensations at Wolverhampton on Sunday.

And Nuno revealed yesterday, that he discovered Kane was staying in the morning, shortly before the striker announced the news on social media, and insisted he was not worried about the 28-year-old leaving the club in January.

“Great news for everyone,” Nonoo said. “We are all very happy. One of the best players in the world. We are all happy that we have another option for this season. His attitude in training has been great. He’s done, Harry will be with us.”
