I will run the 2021 Boston Marathon in the Children’s Cancer Collegiate Marathon Team to raise money for Massachusetts General Hospital. They are doing an amazing job for a cause very close to my heart. My daughter Jane completed 852 days of leukemia treatment in April 2021. I will run the Boston Marathon on October 11th in honor of Jane and all children and families with childhood cancer.

Running helps support programs that bring smiles and hope to the bravest people you’ll ever meet. During her treatment, Jane was paired up with two marathon runners through the Patient Partner Program. I looked at these runners in awe and dreamed of one day participating in giving back, staying connected, and as a way to heal after going through this experience as a mother.

I’ve been her “sick partner” in other ways, sleeping with her in her hospital bed, holding her while she’s sedated, and driving her to the emergency room in the middle of the night — we’ve been through a lot together. I am honored to run 26.2 miles of this race in honor of my beautiful girl, who I am fortunate and grateful to still have.
