Canadian e-commerce company Shopify said Tuesday that businesses will be able to add a shopping tab to their TikTok profiles to create a “money store front” that connects directly to their online store for checkout.

The shopping tool, which is currently being tested, is available to merchants in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, and will reach more areas in the coming months. Shopify had already entered into an agreement with TickTalk to allow merchants to create “shopable” video ads that take consumers to online stores.

Byte Dance, a Beijing-based company that owns Tik Tak, already runs a thriving social media marketplace on Dwayne, its twin video app for the Chinese market. Buying products through social media sites is not yet common in the United States, although Pinterest and Facebook-owned Instagram have made some progress.

Reality star Kylie Jenner is one of the first entrepreneurs to participate in the program by selling her skin care and cosmetics line through Tik Tak.
