These are some of the top 5 new symptoms of Covid

LONDON – When the coronavirus pandemic first emerged in early 2020, governments quickly released information about what symptoms to look for, not knowing at the time that much of the transmission was asymptomatic.

The audience was asked to look for a high fever and a new persistent cough, with loss of sense of taste or smell, fatigue and sore throat also called possible symptoms (some added at various points in the epidemic).

Fast forward to today and more symptoms will be reported and recognized. The difference in symptoms has occurred over time as many types of the virus – such as the alpha strain and now the rapidly transmissible delta variant – have continued to replace the “original” strain of Covid-19 first discovered in China in late 2019

Now, a study underway in the UK that enables the public to enter their own Covid symptoms on an app – which scientists have been able to analyze the data – indicates that there are new, widely reported symptoms of the coronavirus.

The Study Zoe Covid symptoms أعراض I identified the first five current symptoms that have appeared in recent weeks which seem to vary depending on whether you have been vaccinated, and how many doses you have received.

The symptoms described below were first published in late June, but they still represent the top five reported symptoms, according to CNBC’s Zoe Covid Symptom study on Wednesday.

Symptom ratings are based on audience reports in the app alone and do not take into account the variable that caused the virus or demographic information.

These are the top five symptoms reported by people who have been fully vaccinated, have taken a single dose of the vaccine or have not been vaccinated.

Symptoms if fully vaccinated?

The Zoe Covid Symptom study says, in general, it has seen symptoms similar to Covid-19 that were generally reported in the app by vaccinated and not vaccinated people.

However, fewer symptoms were reported over a shorter period of time by those who actually got the injection, indicating that they were less severe from the disease and improving more quickly.

Here is the current order of Covid symptoms after the two vaccinations:

  1. Headache
  2. Runny nose
  3. sneezing
  4. Sore throat
  5. loss of sense of smell

The study indicated that “traditional” Covid symptoms such as loss of smell, fever and shortness of breath ranked low on the list, at 5, 12 and 29, respectively. “A persistent cough now ranks eighth if you have had two doses of the vaccine, so it is no longer the higher indicator of Covid infection.”

Symptoms after a vaccine dose?

The order changes again after a single dose of vaccination as shown below:

  1. Headache
  2. Runny nose
  3. Sore throat
  4. sneezing
  5. persistent cough

With protection from only a single dose of vaccine, Zoe noted, one of the original indicators of a persistent cough was what led to the first five symptoms.
