Royal insiders say introducing his new partner to the Queen is a major step, and that the couple’s signature is serious – although the wedding bells may be a bit off.

A source told The Sun, “The Queen is one of the most important people in the world run outof life, so it’s only right that he identifies her with Lindsay. It was a very intimate meeting and the Queen was visibly pleased to meet someone who made Peter so happy.

“Despite the fact that he divorced Autumn, they have two children together and their relationship remains incredibly warm. They both go on with their lives and accept that the other will find someone else romantically.

“It may still be early days, but Peter wanted his grandmother to see he was happy. It’s a clear sign that Lindsay is now very welcome at The Firm and a major first step if they ever choose to marry. The Queen just wants Peter to be happy.”

Peter and Autumn announced last February that they had split the previous year. They settled their divorce amicably in June last year after 12 years together and have two children, Savannah, 11, and Isla, nine.

In March, The Sun revealed how police officers gave the businessman ‘advice’ after he drove 460 miles from his home in Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire. He went to Lindsay’s £475,000 home on the Scottish east coast at the height of government-imposed restrictions.

Lindsey was a classmate with Zara, 39, at Gordonston, a £40,000-a-year school in Aberdeenshire where Peter was two years older than them.

A quick photo of the guests leaving Zara’s 2011 wedding with rugby star Mike Tindall, a laughing Lindsay was captured wearing a cream hat and pink hat.

Phillips and Lindsay are said to have bonded after their last school reunion.
After dropping out of school, Lindsay worked in a health food store for a while. In recent years, she has been a housewife.

Phillips, son of Captain Mark Phillips’ ex-husband of Princess Anne, is 17th in line to the throne. He has often been described by royal insiders as “the Queen’s favorite grandchild”.

Lindsay was also photographed in November as she drove to Windsor to attend the double christening of son Mike and Zara Tindall Lucas, and Eugenie’s boy and Jack Brooksbank Augustus.

Peter later had a shooting party in Windsor Great Park where Lindsay was formally introduced to Her Majesty the Queen still working on “light assignments” at Windsor Castle after last year’s hospital panic. “Peter attended a private event in Windsor,” a spokesman for Peter Phillips said.
