Google has announced that the Link Spam Update, which was originally launched on July 26, 2021, is now rolling out on August 24, 2021. It’s been a whole month of rolling out this update and two weeks more than Google initially said.
Here is Google’s announcement that it’s done:

One week ago, we reported that it was three weeks ago and we had one more week left – so I guess the latest estimate was more accurate than the actual messaging. Google initially said that this algorithm update, which will continue for the next two weeks, is more effective in identifying and eliminating link spam more widely in multiple languages.
But all is well, it is now fully alive.
How do you know if your site has been affected? Needless to say, we have had a bunch of unverified updates since this announcement. Some or all of these links may or may not be related to this link spam update. We really have no way of knowing.
But we know that Google Link Spam Update started on July 26, 2021 and ended on August 24, 2021.
