Sometime this year Celebrity Net Worth updated R. Kelly’s page to list his total value in assets as minus $2 million… which is something the internet seems to have just taken over in the past few days or so, including One 42 dogs – Who was howling at the news.

He posted a video showing himself laughing with his buddies, as they taped various articles (all dating back to CNW) reporting on Kelly’s latest alleged numbers.

Same for the rest of Twitter…whose users are posting jokes about how technically rich they are from a one-time R&B icon — who is in the middle of several criminal cases, plus one on the verge of is contained, with the official jury deliberations beginning.

As for how Celebrity Net Worth landed on the figure – $2 million… they seem to be simply citing a story we published last year – where R. Kelly told the judge, via court documents, that he owed Uncle Sam Nearly 2 million dollars In back taxes…which he cited as a reason he wouldn’t be in danger of flying if he was released on bail. The court dropped him… and he’s been in detention ever since.

Now, whether or not R. Kelly actually has a negative net worth is purely speculation – but one thing is for sure… the guy appears to be cash-strapped, and it looks like he’s been for years now. He revealed himself in a song back in 2018… calling himself “broken”.

Of course, he was struggling on the business side of things even before “Surviving R. Kelly” aired… as various streaming platforms turned off his music, and several venues refused to book him for concerts. And with the addition of a cadre of lawyers who’ve been in and out for at least two years… you can only imagine the legal bills he collected.
