The man was looking for a missing cow – it had disappeared three days earlier.

But he was shocked to find instead the bloody remains of both animals.

In a clip posted online, the snake can be seen lying on the lawn having visibly bitten off more than it can chew.

Local experts believe his stomach ruptured after it swollen after struggling to cope with the giant meal.

Nero Liwatanakul, the official in the village, theorized: “The serpent must have been hungry and saw the cow.

Then she strangled the cow to kill her before swallowing her whole body.

“However, after the cow died inside the snake, its body swollen and the snake’s stomach expanded even more. It was a frightening sight.”

According to National Geographic, Burmese pythons have an amazing ability to digest food that is nearly twice their body mass.

They wrap their prey and crush it to death before swallowing their food whole.

Their gigantic jaws are so large that they can, at times, open them to stretch around their large prey.

Just last year, video footage of a snake devouring an opossum emerged in a backyard in Australia while shocked onlookers watched.

The giant python, which was spotted hanging from a rooftop, was captured by local snake hunter Stuart Mackenzie.

He said, “I got a call from a house after I saw the snake on the roof of the backyard and heard a bit of a commotion.

“When I got there he was hanging from the ceiling with an opossum in his mouth.

“I knew if I tried to take him away at that moment, he would probably drop his food and never want to eat it again.

“I realized she was just starting to eat the meal, so I knew I had to wait for her to finish eating.

“It’s just nature so the best result is that the snake eats it because it is already dead.

“It took about an hour to eat her whole, so I sat with the residents while we watched her and waited for her to finish her meal.”
