(WHDH) – A 99-year-old woman from South Dakota has proven that it’s never too late to learn a new skill.
Edith, who has lived with physical disabilities her whole life, was able to check skating from her wish list.
Her grandson, Austin Pierce, said, “She’s had physical disabilities her whole life, so that wasn’t something she could do.”
However, the non-profit organization Ski for Light helped make Edith’s dream a reality by giving her a guide to help her on her ski path.
“That was great,” she said. “I think everyone should do it even though it’s really bumpy.”
Edith is set to turn 100 years old in March.
