Tenants who ditched their city apartments during COVID are returning to the crazy rental market

Like many urbanites, Omar and Moore Granite left their New York City home during the pandemic, giving up their lease on their Brooklyn apartment. Mr. Granite said that in December 2020, they moved into a rented cabin in Evergreen, Colorado, with their three daughters, where they were enjoying skiing and wildlife spotting. However, after eight months, they were ready to go home.

“The lifestyle there is incredible,” said Mr. Granit of Colorado. “But our lives are here.”
