Squid Game on Netflix: The End Explained and Answers to Your Burning Questions.
Serious but exciting Korean series about a murderous children’s sports tournament, could happen soon. . It’s a nine-episode series, and the tournament itself leads to bloody resolutions. But that doesn’t mean all our squid game questions are answered. A look at the audience’s seven burning questions about the show.
Warning: The following is a big breakdown for the squid game, so if you haven’t seen all the episodes, come back and read on after you finish. You do not want to be frustrated if you cannot get the right pitch so invest in a good capo.
- Will Squad Game Season Two be?
So if you’ve watched the whole show (remember this spoiler warning above), you know that the game doesn’t really end with the ninth episode. This continues, and the future of the “winner” Seong Gi-hun (played by Li Jingjai) remains uncertain. Will we ever know what happens after landing this plane? The answer is a resounding … maybe. Writer / director Huang Dong-hyuk told Variety that he could return to the big screen movies before thinking of a squid game sequel.
“I have no better plans for Squid Game 2,” he told Variety. It’s tiring to think about it.
The success of the Squid Game is certain that Netflix executives want more, but we don’t know if they will bring the director back for more. Take out the Korean One, Netflix-filled anchor pig bank, and pay the man.
2. Was the squid game based on a book?
It certainly looks like a squid game will make a great novel or graphic novel. But right now, you can’t go to your bookstore and pick out a squid game book to read.
According to Korean pop culture site Sompy, squid game director Huang Dong-hyuk said he came up with the idea for the show in 2008 from a comic book about people playing an extreme game. But he did not call it humor.
And it may not be a single comedy, as the director told the Korean Herald that he “read a lot of comics, and was inspired by survival games.” So until Huang comes out and names some of his reading material, we have estimates. It looks like the squid game will now turn into a book, because it’s such a hit. Keep an eye on these bookstores.
Some are claiming that the squid game is suspiciously similar to the 2014 Japanese film, The Gods Will, directed by Takashi Mike. The film itself is based on a Japanese manga. It’s also about a death tournament using childhood games, and there seem to be some very similar scenes, including a doll spinning and trying to get the players moving.
The director of Squid Game said in a press conference that only the first game in the film resembles his show, and that he had been working on his concept for years before it appeared in The Gods Will in 2014.
3. Are the games in squid games real?
Obviously, there is no deadly squid game tournament, where people are killed playing innocent children’s games. We hope so. But the title refers to a specific sport whose name vaguely emerges from the court like a squad.
The main character, Seong Gi-hun, sounds like a squid game is unique to his city, describing a game that resembles a Red Rover and is a kind of capture of the flag and the game in the form of a squid. Played on the field. To win, the attacking team, which is only allowed to hop until it passes through the squid’s waist, must tap the squid’s head with its feet. Director Huang told the Korean Herald that it was his favorite childhood game, so yes, it looks like it’s real.
Other games played are clearly real, including Marble, Tug of War and Red Light Green Light. There’s a game that’s clearly not real – one in which players have to cross a glass bridge and not know which panel will shatter underfoot – although for games like Hopscotch you only have to set your feet specific. Needs to be placed in squares.
A game gives each player a ton of candy in which its shape emerges, and they have to use a sharp object to cut it without breaking the shape. This is easy if you have a triangle shape, not so easy if you choose an umbrella. Contestants eventually learn that licking the back of the candy helps release the shape.
This candy is real – here is a YouTube video from PinoyChefKorea that shows you how to make it. (Synthesis instructions are shown in the English caption.) Did you sign in?During an epidemic? This candy is Dalguna candy.
This candy is popular among Korean children, notes the chef. And yes, eaters in Korea try to eat around the raised form without breaking it, even though the stakes are not life or death for them.
4. Is the red light, green light doll real?
The contestant’s first game is a red light, a green light, but instead of turning around and trying to catch someone moving during the “red light”, it’s a very strange school girl robot doll thing.
Online publication Koreabo reports that the doll was not made for the squid game, but was already on display at the Jinchen Carriage Museum Adventure Village, also known as Machaland, South Korea’s Chung Cheung Book Doo. In a museum, several hours from Seoul. Correbo says the doll has now been returned to the museum, but somehow one hand is missing. Hey, that game was rough on everyone.
Dean of Geck, referring to tweets from Filipinos, said a version of the doll was part of a Netflix display at a mall there, and its head was actually spinning.
5. That squid game business card.
Squid game recruiters presented light brown business cards with game symbols – a circle, triangle and square – on one side, and a phone number on the other. (Enterprise online artists are selling them if your.Need a support, or make them yourself.)
Author Jasmine Leung explains to Fox that the shapes are actually Korean characters.
“The circle is the letter ‘O’, the triangle is part of the letter ‘J’, and the square is ‘M’,” she writes. “At the same time, it reads ‘OJ M’, which is the originator of the squid game in Korean, which is read as Ojingeo Geim ().”
That side of the card is fine, but the other side, which shows the phone number, caused some trouble. Mashable Southeast Asia reports that a person with this number has complained of receiving “endless” calls and text messages. (Come on Netflix, you should have bought a specific number and arranged some promo messages for the people who called it.)
6. Theory of Squid Game Guards.
Squid game guards wear red, and when someone is exposed, he looks like a young naive soldier. An online theory tries to explain how the guards were placed. The main character Seong Gi-hun plays a game called ddakji with a recruiter for the game. (Dudkji is a traditional Korean game of flipping paper tiles – like POG.) It sounds random, but one theory claims that it is not.
A tweet noted that “there is a theory in the squid game where Ji Hun picked up a blue card from a salesman (Gong Yu) and then woke up in a blue suit as a player.” “If he or other players had picked up the red card, they would have been workers / guards.”
There is no proof that this is true, but hey, good choice for a possible sequel.
7. Explain the end of the squid game.
Bad time, because we’re going to talk about the end of the series. Seong Gi-hun won, and he learned who was really playing the game (you must have guessed it because we don’t see this character die in the game, but it’s a juicy plot twist that I I will not show it here).
After dealing with the game mastermind, Gi-hun dyes his hair bright red (like the guards’ outfits, although it may not be connected). He then boarded a plane to LA to reunite with his young daughter. But he identified the game recruiter who included him in the game and tried to persuade another man of his luck to play. Gi-hun picks up the card, and before boarding the plane, calls the number and tells the answerer that he is going to track them down. Sequel? Even if the director is not in a hurry, the setup is perfect for anyone.
And let’s talk about brothers. Police officer Huang Jun Ho (Wai Ha Jun) enters the game, looking for his missing brother In Ho. Jun Ho escaped from the game compound but was apparently killed by the frontman, who is the game’s manager. And the frontman was revealed … John Ho’s missing brother, whom we had already learned won the game in 2015.
Brothers can also return to the sequel. June Ho was shot in the shoulder (before falling off a cliff into the water) so he may not be dead, although it does not appear that he has handed over the game’s mastermind to his fellow police officers, as the game continues. ۔ This single death in this show will not be fake.
