Season 3 of ‘Ted Lasso’: Sharon Fieldstone and Trent Karim Returning?
A pair of fan favorites Ted Lasso The characters will actually return for Season 3, despite their supposed exit at the end of Friday.
In an interview with our sister site final date, executive producer Bill Lawrence confirmed that both series regulars Sarah Niles (who debuted in the second season premiere as same-team scientist Dr. Sharon Fieldstone) and recurring guest star James Lance (who played in seasons 1 and 2. independentSports columnist Trent Cream) will make a big impact in the next 12 episodes.
“I can tell you that they both have important roles in the coming year,” he said.
The penultimate episode of season two marked Sharon’s exit from the Richmond Club. Ted and Sharon head out for last-day drinks at the Crown & Anchor, where Ted fends off Sharon’s earlier bid for an Irish farewell. But Sharon was still in touch with Ted on the next episode. The opening scene featured a voicemail message she had left to the club’s coach after Trent’s reveal was posted online.
The epilogue also revealed that Trent was no longer working as a journalist. He criticized himself for revealing a source and was fired before independent. (Click here for the full recap of Season 2, Episode 12.)

During his conversation with Deadline, Lawrence expected that too Ted Lasso Season 3 will premiere in August 2022, which aligns with the releases of Season 1 (which bowed out on August 14, 2020) and Season 2 (which premiered on July 23 this year, coinciding with the Tokyo Olympics).
