Tony Finau will not show mercy to Team Europe in the Ryder Cup
Tony Finau warned European players that they would not be merciful as the United States targeted an all-out Ryder Cup win at Whistling Straits.
Steve Stryker’s team led 11-5 in 12 singles games on Sunday and required just three and a half points to win the biennial competition for only the second time since 2008.
But Finaw revealed that he and his teammates had no intention of being satisfied with just winning after defeating previous US teams by a record nine points in 2004 and 2006.
“I don’t think it gets talked about enough in the Ryder Cup (but) sometimes your job, when you have healthy progression like that, (it) is just to tire out some great players,” Finau said. He was tempted to face European talisman Ian Poulter in the singles.

DeChambeau described as ‘classless’ due to complaints about not giving up shots
Bryson Deschamps was described as “without layers” after apparently complaining about a European decision not to concede a shot early in the Ryder Cup four-ball game on Saturday.
The American, playing alongside Scotty Scheffler, left a short shot to cut the hole in half after Victor Hovland missed an opportunity to give himself and Tommy Fleetwood an early lead.
DeChambeau duly rolled the ball into the hole, but didn’t seem happy because he was forced to do so as he put his racket on the ground after his shot.
