The holidays are back at Reading Terminal Market.
The famous food court installed a seasonal display on the building level featuring a life-size gingerbread house, Santa’s throne, giant snowflakes, and ornaments.

The holiday celebration, called “A Time for Joy,” will be open until December 31, featuring weekly events such as “Thought Thursdays,” Free Chef Demonstration Fridays, and “Jingle Mingle Sunday.”
Santa Claus will appear at the market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 18 for a meet-and-greet and family photo opportunity.
The market will host an all-day Kwanzaa celebration on December 26 in support of black-owned businesses. The event will include special discounts, live entertainment, and a pop-up store for local black-owned vendors.
Every thoughtful Thursday, the market will host local nonprofits and live entertainment in Center Court to educate customers about various causes. Nonprofit partners include Reading Terminal Market Foundation, Beat the Streets, After School All Stars, and Families Forward Philadelphia.
Free chef demonstrations will take place on Fridays from 12 to 1 p.m. on December 3 and December 10. Diverse chefs will perform live in City Kitchen for a first-come-first-served audience.
Shows will also be streamed live on the Reading Terminal Market Facebook page. Chefs include Sophia Dellion of El Merkury who will showcase a traditional Guatemalan dish, and Kathy Mirano of Tambayan who will showcase a traditional Filipino holiday dish.
Jingle Mingle Sundays take place from 10am-4pm on December 5, 12, and 19 and will feature local craft sellers and artists in the Rick Nichols Room. There will also be live entertainment from the Sidestory Band in Gingerbread Candyland from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Craft sellers will include artists at the market consisting of artists working at the reading station: Trudi Clark Pottery, Tenangos Philly, Xiquipilli-Martinez and Artesania Mundo De Queen.
