Ralf Rangnick will make his first appearance as interim coach of Manchester United when he visits Crystal Palace on Sunday after completing paperwork related to the German’s recruitment on Thursday.
Rangnick has received a work visa and is expected to be in the stands on Thursday when United host Arsenal at 8.15pm in Michael Carrick’s third and final game as interim manager.
United fell to tenth place, 15 points behind leaders Chelsea and six points from the Champions League berth with a game postponed.
Rangnick’s brief will be to stabilize the team and seek a fourth-place finish before he finishes his term at the end of the season and begins an advisory role.
“I will try to make the most of it,” Carrick told MUTV of Thursday’s match. “But it’s really about the players, the team and getting the right result.”
