Police identify Alexandria man killed in Georgetown shooting

The Metropolitan Police on Tuesday identified the man who was killed in a shooting in the Georgetown department on Monday night.

Tarek Booth, 27, from Alexandria, Virginia, was shot At approximately 6:15 p.m. on M Street between 32nd and 33rd Streets, police said in a press release on Tuesday. He later died in hospital.



Commander Robert Conte said later on Monday that the shooting was targeted and the result of a melee.

He added that the suspect may be infected, and that the police would check hospitals.

The shooting closed down the famous M Street between 32nd and 34th Streets, and between Bank Street and Prospect where police investigated.
