Paramount Plus is trying to make its software go viral with its new Twitter partnership

Paramount Plus has announced a new partnership with Twitter centered around better promotion of its exclusive shows and events, as well as hosting three Twitter Watch concerts with fans for its “highly-anticipated original series pick.”

Or, practically speaking, Paramount Plus will really love their shows going viral on Twitter, with the kinds of popular topics and engagement that super popular shows like HBO offer. Succession Enjoy on a weekly basis. And what better way to be famous on Twitter than to connect with Twitter directly?

A lot of this deal is pretty boring stuff, like giving Paramount Plus’s flagship offerings “Twitter Marketing Support and Brand Sponsorship Sales Rights via Twitter’s Amplify Program.” ViacomCBS will also use Twitter to promote live video, highlights, and Twitter moments for major events such as sports or award shows.

There aren’t many details about what shows or events Paramount Plus hopes to promote or what episodes or series will be hosted at the Watch Party. But Paramount Plus has several big-name shows that might fit the bill, like the upcoming fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery or Homecoming in the real world: Los Angeles Reunion series.

ViacomCBS has worked with Twitter before – the 2021 BET Awards have broadcast their red minimalism on Twitter, while the 2021 VMAs have hosted a live preview beforehand on the social media service. The new deal is supposed to mean more of those kinds of partnerships, too.
