Otter.ai transcription service goes beyond zoom so you can skip all your meetings – review Jack

If you spend your work day jumping through zoom calls, chances are you’ve heard of the Otter.ai automated transcription service. But while Otter.ai is useful for logging meetings (even those you can’t attend), its limited compatibility makes it a poor option for people who use multiple video chat services. That has changed today, as Otter.ai now works with Google Mate, Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex.

Some of these video chat services already have built-in transcription tools, and depending on your profession, you may have a manager or co-worker who shares notes after each video meeting. But Otter.ai comes with several advantages – its interchangeable transcripts work automatically, even when you can’t attend a meeting, and when you want to highlight important moments or add some pictures. If so, it’s easy to edit.

And now that Otter.ai is working with teams, Mate and Cisco Webex, it’s an excellent (if not the only) all-in-one copy and note-taking tool that works across all of your video services. Whether you’re using a mat to talk to your coworkers or zoom in to chat with people outside of your company, the Otter.ai service will work for you.

Anyone can use Otter.ai for free, even if you want to pay 8.33 a month for the “Pro” project, which opens up advanced search tools, the ability to copy pre-recorded files, and Option to add custom words (so AI won’t confuse Business Language for common words). Otter.ai also offers a “20 per month” business “plan with live notes and captions for Zoom, as well as the ability to use two-factor authentication (a feature we think should be free).
