Microsoft has a bunch of optional updates for your Windows 10 computer. You don’t have to download them, but if you want to keep your computer as current as possible, you’ll want to download them.

What’s new in Windows 10?

If your computer is running Windows 10 November 2019 Update (version 1909) or Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) then you have some updates to download. They will also come as part of the September Patch Tuesday, so you don’t have to download them right now, because you can get them then. Of course, we’re not all sick, and sometimes you just want the latest updates for your computer via optional updates.

The update to Windows 10 version 1909 includes fixing a problem that prevents Windows Movies and TV apps from playing certain videos, especially .MP4. It also fixes an issue that resets Microsoft One Drive sync to “known folders only” after installing Windows Update.

For Windows 10 version 1809, when you set the system language to Hebrew, you will find a solution to the problem of using the slider control in File Open or Safe dialog. It also comes with the OneDrive update as version 1909.

How to install optional updates

If you want updates, you can go to your computer’s settings, then click “Updates and Security”. Go to the “Windows Update” section, then go to the “Optional Updates Available” section to check for these updates.
