New York City crime: Investigation underway after man stabbed and killed near Penn Station

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) – Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man near Penn Station Thursday night.

The accident was reported near West 33rd and 7th Streets around 6 p.m.

The 36-year-old victim was approached by MTA police after she was stabbed in the chest.

MTA Police called for an ambulance and took him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The agency said the accident occurred on the street and not in the transit system.

Police say the victim appears to have been homeless. Not yet recognized.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
