Police have launched a murder investigation after an elderly man was found dead in a home in Reading.
The officers were at the scene of the accident on the neighbor’s road, Southern Reading, after the body of a man in his seventies was found at a street address.
police They were called around 8.10pm on Wednesday, December 1, where they found the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A security cordon was put in place while the officers continued their investigations.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and is in police custody.
Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact Thames Valley Police at 101, citing the 1958 accident reference in December.
Police say the man has not yet been officially identified.
Senior Investigative Detective Chief Inspector Andy Howard of the Major Crimes Unit said: “Tragically, after a call to an address on Elgar Road, a body was found and a murder investigation began.
“We are in the early stages of this investigation, but an arrest has been made in connection with it.”
