2 injured in a head-on collision near Interstate 46 in Paso Robles

Paso Robles, California (October 8, 2021) Tuesday morning 27 years old Mondragon Estrada He was injured in a major crash on Highway 41.

The accident occurred around 6:03 a.m., near Interstate 46. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving multiple calls.

Officers say Estrada was driving a Peterbilt truck south on the highway, when it drifted into northbound lanes. There, he crashed head-on to a Honda driven by a 62-year-old resident of Paso Robles.

Due to the collision, the Honda hit a metal railing on the west side of the road. Meanwhile, the truck drove under a bridge where it overturned and rested on the passenger side.

Paramedics transported Estrada to Sierra Vista Regional Hospital by plane of mercy. The other driver, identified as mochnik, to the same hospital by air ambulance in St. Louis.

Investigators say both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Furthermore, vulnerability was ruled out as a possible factor.
