Microsoft Teams is getting new features for your personal chat.

Personal Features of Microsoft Teams

Microsoft is working on a new feature that will allow you to locate co-workers locally when they are part of the same organization in Microsoft Teams. As you may know, the Microsoft Teams profile card appears when you click on a profile in the desktop or mobile app and contains basic information about the user.

Currently, Thames profile cards only include phone calls, emails, and customer availability status. As part of the update, Microsoft is adding local time to the user’s profile card. This will allow users to easily collaborate with remote teams in different time zones.

Microsoft is currently testing this feature internally and will begin rolling out to desktop and web users in early 2022. In addition, Microsoft has already begun introducing a new feature called “shared chat”. The shared chat, originally announced at the Ignite conference, is now available.

As the name suggests, the Thames Shared feature will allow you to organize chats and meetings outside of your organization. In other words, teams will have better integration for work and customer chat.

Delete your private chat in teams.

Right now, Microsoft Teams doesn’t let you delete chats, but you can “hide” the conversation, which basically removes it from the chat pane. However, the “Hide” button saves the chat history and users can return the hidden chat by clicking “Hide”.

Thankfully, Microsoft has acknowledged user feedback, and the company is working on a new feature that will allow you to delete personal threads.

“The team is in the process of finalizing the design for deleting private chat threads. We will update as we have more progress to share,” Microsoft said.

To delete a thread, you’ll need to click the “Chat” button in the left sidebar, tap the three dots, and finally, click the “Delete” button.

In addition, Microsoft is testing new emojis and meeting improvements for the Thames desktop client.
