Meghan Markle praised Prince Harry for quoting Spider-Man
Meghan Markle praised her husband Prince Harry for his encouragement her political activity — and he said he inspires her with motivational words that are almost like Spider-Man.
when it appears in New York Times DealBook . Conference On Tuesday, the 40-year-old Duchess of Sussex was asked why paternity leave is her “central” issue given that she “has such a great privilege”.
She replied, “You mentioned privilege – my husband always says, ‘With great privilege comes great responsibility.'”
The Duchess didn’t refer to her hubby saying close to a famous quote from Spider-Man, which is often called the “Peter Parker Doctrine.”
While the original adage, “Great power comes great responsibility,” is believed to have existed since the French Revolution in the 1700s, it has been used extensively in web animation and comics since the 1960s.
Markle, 40, insisted that “even before I had any privilege in my life – when my life and my lifestyle were very, very different – I had always stood up for what was right.”
This is why “picking up the phone and making some calls” to US politicians “seems really self-evident and makes sense” to her, she said, controversially using the title of Duchess even though she has left life as a royal.
Among the senators’ reactions when they answered the phone to her cold calls, the Duchess said with a smile: “I think people are very surprised.”
