Massachusetts reports 4,378 new breakout cases of COVID-19

Massachusetts public health officials have reported 4,378 new breach cases of COVID-19 in fully vaccinated individuals in the past week, according to data from the state’s Department of Public Health. 4,378 new breach cases were reported to the Department of Public Health between September 18 and September 25, and during the same seven-day period, the state reported 11,137 new cases of COVID-19 among all state residents. DPH shows that there have been 36,723 total cases of COVID-19 in fully vaccinated individuals as of September 25. Last week, the Department of Public Health reported a total of 32,345 breaches as of September 18. One million residents are considered fully immunized in Massachusetts, or about 0.8% of these individuals. The state health department said a total of 1,155 hacks resulted in hospitalizations, an increase of 154 from the previous week, and the state said 254 hacks led to death based on information reported so far, an increase of 37 in the past week. Hospitals have been seeing a decline in hospitalizations since the summer wave that began just after the Fourth of July. The number of COVID-19 patients is currently 606. It dropped to 80 on July 4 and 707 on September 13. The average seven days in the hospital rose from 85 on July 9 to the most recent mark of 615.

The state health department said a total of 1,155 breaches led to hospitalizations, an increase of 154 from the previous week.

The state said 254 breakthrough cases have led to death based on information reported so far, an increase of 37 in the past week.
