MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) – A man has been arrested after a standoff with authorities in Miami Parks.

7SkyForce circled over the scene in the parking lot of St. Monica’s Catholic Church, located along Northwest 34th Avenue and 191st Street, around noon on Tuesday.

A driver was seen inside a dark-coloured car wedged between two police cars – one of which was unrecognizable.

Other armed officers were seen behind a parked car a few feet from the suspended vehicles.

What appeared to be money was seen being thrown out of the car at the time of the confrontation.

The man in the car was identified by the authorities.

The police were on the phone with him, trying to calm the situation.

The man was reportedly wanted for a bank robbery from Delray Beach, but authorities have not confirmed why the driver was stopped.

After several minutes of speaking with authorities at the scene, officers slowly approached the car and the man got off and was immediately handcuffed.

Saint Monica’s Catholic School and Carol City Prep School have been placed in precautionary closure.
