Man injured in SR-67 pickup truck overturned in rain

The Powai Fire Department said a man was injured Friday after his pickup truck skidded on a rainy road and rolled into some bush on Route 67 in Powai.

Rodney Ortiz, the battalion chief, said the driver, whose name has not been released, was alone in the vehicle, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center.

The accident was reported shortly after 11 a.m. on Powai Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Ortiz said Friday’s rainy weather was a factor in the accident.

Ortiz said the driver was heading north on the SR-67 when his truck “started to fishtail,” causing the vehicle to roll over. He added that the truck had suffered some damage.

Earlier, Caltrans issued SigAlert, closing all vehicle lanes, but has now reopened all lanes to traffic.
