Benjamin Mendy, 27, the Manchester City player, is accused of attacking three women over the course of ten months – and he also faces one count of sexual assault.
The defender, who moved to the defending champions for £52m four years ago, arrived at Chester Magistrates’ Court in a GeoAmey this morning.
Duff’s car was escorted by a Peugeot 308 police van before entering the courthouse through an open red shutter door, which was then closed behind him.
France international Mendy earns £90,000 a week and lives in a £5m mansion in Priestbury, an upscale village near Manchester famous for its fellow players.

Yesterday, a Cheshire Police spokesperson said the Royal Prosecution Service had allowed the force to charge Mindy in connection with the alleged sexual assaults, which included three complainants over the age of 16.
The spokesperson said: ‘Benjamin Mendy, 27, has been charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The charges relate to three complainants over the age of 16 and allegedly occurred between October 2020 and August 2021.
Mindy, from Priestbury, has been placed in remand and is due to appear in Chester Magistrates Court on Friday 27 August.
He added: ‘Cheshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service would like to remind everyone that the criminal proceedings against Mendy are alive and that he has the right to a fair trial.
“It is extremely important that there be no reporting, commenting or sharing of information online that could in any way harm ongoing proceedings.”

Mendy was part of France’s World Cup winning squad 2018, but did not play in the final. He has made 75 appearances for Manchester City since signing from Monaco in 2017.
He played in Man City’s first two games this season but was on the bench in last week’s league win over Norwich City.
A Manchester City spokesperson said: ‘Manchester City can confirm that following his indictment by the police, Benjamin Mendy has been suspended from work pending an investigation.
“The matter is subject to legal procedures and therefore the club is unable to comment further until this process is complete.”
