The 20-year-old actress has been on the show for 13 years, having joined at the age of 6 in 2008, but decided to leave after receiving a number of huge financial offers for other projects.

End of an era: Maisie Smith, 20, has quit her role as Tiffany’s sidekick on BBC series EastEnders after 13 years on the show.
“I am so excited for my next challenge and thank the BBC for the opportunity they gave me when I was six.”
Jon Sen, Executive Producer of EastEnders, added: “We are very saddened to see Maisie leave.
She has been an amazing member of the company during her time at EastEnders and it was an honor to see her blossom into the star that she is.

She has created a special character in Tiff and the door is always open for her to come back.

The star won Best Dramatic Performance by a Young Actor or Actress at the 2008 British Soap Awards, a year after she joined EastEnders.

Maisie’s contract previously prevented her from appearing on other shows but she told the sun Last year she was eager to try other things.
“In the future I want to try new things and I want to play new characters,” she said.
The last scenes of the soap star have not yet been shown.
