Liverpool transfer news – Kylian Mbappe boost, Denil Malin claim, Marko Grujic exit
Liverpool confirm Grujic’s departure
Liverpool confirmed that midfielder Marko Grujic has left the club and joined FC Porto.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has today concluded his permanent move to FC Porto.
The Serbia international returned to the Portuguese club after making 39 appearances and scoring two goals during a loan spell in 2020-21.
Gruich was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Reds coach when he agreed to move to Anfield from Red Star Belgrade in January 2016 before arriving later that year.
He made eight appearances during his debut season for Liverpool and another six in 2017-18, then joined Cardiff City on loan in the second half of the season.
“Two fruitful seasons with Hertha FC followed as Grujic enjoyed regular playing time in the Bundesliga.
He made two League Cup matches with the Reds in the early stages of last season, scoring his first goal for the club in a 7-2 win over Lincoln City, before moving to Porto.
“Gruich joined Klopp’s squad at this month’s pre-season training camp in Austria and will now bid farewell to the association with Porto permanently.
“Everyone at Liverpool thanks Marco for his contributions to the club and wishes him well in his future career.
