As house prices in Southern California continue to break records month after monthIt may not come as much of a surprise to locals that the area dominates a newly released list of the most expensive ZIP codes in the United States.
Ratings, compiled by Real Estate Data Corporation Shark characteristic, revealed the Top 100 ZIP Codes with the Most Expensive Average Selling Prices for 2021.
Of those, 21 are in Los Angeles County, making it the most expensive real estate county not only in California, but across America, according to Property Shark.
The iconic 90210 zip code in Beverly Hills was the most expensive in the county, with an average sale price of $4,125,000 — good for sixth in the rankings. The 90402 zip code for Santa Monica also made it into the top ten, coming in at number eight with an average price of $4,058,000.
Los Angeles itself also features six of the most expensive areas in the United States, with the 90272 Pacific Palisades ZIP Code leading the pack with an average selling price of $3,250,000.
Meanwhile, Orange County ranked fourth in the state with nine of the most expensive ZIP codes; Aside from Los Angeles, it has fallen behind Santa Clara and San Mateo counties in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In OC, the highest-ranked areas were Huntington Beach (90742) and Newport Beach (92662)—putting them 14th and 15th, respectively, on the list, with average selling prices of $3625,000 and $3577,000.
Overall, California zip codes comprised a staggering 70% of the ratings, while six of the top 10 locations made the list. (California had 89 in total, considering the list has 127 ZIP codes due to links.)
Atherton (94027) in San Mateo County tops it all for the fifth year in a row, with an average sale price of $74,755,000, according to Property Shark.
