Lake Michigan ‘really warm this time of year’

In Illinois, scientists expect to see that extreme events, including exceptionally hot days, more torrential rain and longer droughts, become more common. The average daily temperature has already increased by as much as 2 degrees across much of the state, and an Illinois climate assessment has found that a warming of 4 degrees or more is possible by the end of the century, depending on different emissions scenarios.
