The prosecution witnesses the star in Juicy Smollett The trial may have a credibility problem with one of the Osundairo brothers…due to supplying Josie with drugs.
Abimbola ‘Bola’ Osundairo He testified that he obtained medicines for Smollett, but did not sell them to him.
The reason for this happened during trial …in 2019, texts surfaced between Josie and one of the brothers about taping marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy. The documents in the case refer to the transaction in this way… “Smollett will order… hashish, molly or whitney [slang for cannabis and controlled substances]The document goes on to say that Josie used PayPal and Venmo to pay for drug deals. The document notes that Josie tried to cover up the drug deal by saying the payment was for personal training.
Well, Paula testified that yes, he supplied Josie with drugs, but added, “I’m not a drug dealer. I don’t sell.”
It’s too soon to know how that develops…but jurors may find it difficult to absorb Paula’s testimony…that two coaches with small parts on a TV show will dig deep into their pockets to pay for a wealthy actor’s drugs. If the jury had issues with this, it could affect the two brothers’ credibility, which could create the reasonable doubt necessary to acquit Josie.
The brothers were in court Thursday … before entering the building they were seen praying together.
