John Morrison tops another round of WWE sales

The year-long WWE restructuring continued with another round of talent curtailment.

John Morrison, Top Doll, Ashant Adonis, Isaiah Swirf Scott, Tegan Knox, Drake Maverick, Shane Thorne and Jackson Reeker are the most recent names to be dropped from the company.

Morrison, whose real name is John Michael Heneghan, is the biggest name from this tour. He was previously with WWE from 2002 to 2011, and returned to the company in 2019. Last year, Morrison and The Miz served as the Smackdown tag team champions.

Drake Maverick responded to his release by posting a cinematic video that referenced the tearful video from the previous time it was released by WWE, in 2020, and gave himself a pep talk.

Isaiah Swerve Scott, who went by the name Shane Strickland before he made it to WWE, posted a hip-hop video that showed his confidence he’d be “just fine.”

This is just the second round of talent launches this month by WWE. Previously, Ember Moon, Keith Lee, Carrion Cross, Mia Yim, Gran Metallic, Nia Jax, Lince Dorado, Jet Rama, Katrina Cortez, Tre Baxter, Zed Ramir, Jesse Kamiya, Be Fab, Oni Lorcan, Frankie Monet, Eva Marie and Scarlett Bordeaux abandoned.

Despite WWE posting record annual profits in 2020, the company made several rounds of cuts in 2021 for both talent and behind-the-scenes personnel. Previously this year, a big name like the former champions Bray White And Braun Strowman They were also released.
