The former Top Gear host appeared in his element stacking crates of beer at the brewery.

Talking to the sunJeremy admitted that his marketing ideas had been shot down, joked his mantra encouraging alcoholics to give a try, and the Advertising Standards Authority rescinded it.

“If you’re an alcoholic, don’t fight it, feed it,” he admitted, “it fell to the regulator.”

There is a lot you cannot say. For example, “This is a delicious breakfast beer” – they will not allow it. It’s very boring. Basically, all I’m allowed to say is, “This is beer.”

The barley is grown on his farm, and the beer will be available for sale online and in Jeremy’s farm shop, but he hopes it will eventually be stocked in pubs and supermarkets.

The star admitted he was inspired to launch the new project after being told at school he “can’t organize ap*** up at a brewery”.

‘I wanted to have a brewery so I could have a place inside. Now I can go back to my old job teacher and say, “Do you see? I told you I could do it!” It is a well made beer. I’m out for world domination. Nothing less will do.

Beer could indicate more disaster on the farm, though, as viewers of his popular Amazon Prime show Clarkson’s Farm have witnessed. The second series is currently being filmed, and Jeremy said brewing his own beer made his antics worse ten times.

“I’ve had many accidents on the tractor,” he admitted. “Last night I slept in bed at two in the morning and I asked Lisa if I had a good day and I said, ‘Yeah, it was great.’ The next morning Lisa came over and told me there was destruction outside. The gate posts were knocked, the boxes all over Place, the barn door crashes.

It’s like that part in The Wolf Of Wall Street when he thinks he didn’t have an accident. Now we have our own beer, the chance of accidents has gone through the roof.

Back in 2017, Jeremy cut back on his drinking after a fatal bout of pneumonia and septicemia.

Jeremy, who lives on the farm with his girlfriend Lisa, 46, told The Sun: “Lisa and I drank ourselves silly.

When you’re planting, it’s the pleasure of the sun setting, leaning on a fence, looking at your sheep or your crops, or watching the seasons change.

Did it make me fitter? No. The other thing about farming is how automated it is, you don’t have to walk anywhere, you just drive everywhere it’s cool. I’m totally inappropriate.

Although Jeremy has owned Diddly Squat Farm since 2008, he’s only been running it for the past two years.
