Introduction from “How to With John Wilson” Season Two: Watch

How about John Wilson? He has more to say about the world with his weird little pinky finger than most shows have been able to get hold of over entire seasons. Take the touching trailer for The second season of the show, which is organized almost like a mini version of one of John Wilson’s surprisingly quirky articles in the video. Her thesis? New York is still full of hilarious, weird, and trashy life to draw visuals to contemplate, even when it’s all shut down. “A lot of people thought we wouldn’t be able to do another season of the show, but we did,” Wilson says in an audio recording over footage of banquet halls, subway stations, cloudy beaches, and the bustle of street corners. “New York looks more exciting now than ever. And even though you’ve lost a lot of what you loved,” he said while filming the Gem Spa (RIP) complex, “It really made you appreciate what you still have.” A cut for Wilson’s lovable owner, Mama . Music swells over eccentric footage, eccentrics, and ugly, filthy New York City snow, and Wilson pauses, saying, “Talking to you soon.”

This season will consist of six episodes, just like the first, with topics ranging from “How to Drain Your Batteries” to “How to Remember Your Dreams,” and Susan Orlean is among this season’s writers. How about John Wilson? It returns on HBO on Friday, November 26 at 10 p.m. ET. What did we do to deserve the best show?
