An extension of Highway 101 in Santa Barbara County remained closed in both directions Tuesday due to the Alisal fire, cutting off traffic into Los Angeles.

The motorway has been closed from Point North Carpinteria just to three-tenths of a mile north of Goleta on Winchester Canyon Road, according to Caltrans.
