‘If Harry Kane goes there’ – Jimmy Carragher predicts Liverpool and Man City titles

Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester City will overtake both Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League title race if they complete the signing of Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Kane is keen to leave the north London side in pursuit of trophies, as he believes City are keen to secure the striker’s services.

Talking to Gary Neville to overlap again in MayKane has publicly admitted he is open to the move and has claimed he will hold talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy about his future.

The striker missed Tottenham’s opening game of the season against City, with new coach Nuno Espirito Santo citing his lack of pre-season as the reason for his absence.

However, he returned to the Tottenham team for Sunday’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton, coming on as a second-half substitute.

It is believed that City are refusing to give up in their quest for a striker, with Kane in the match seen as the missing ingredient in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

With things as they are now, Spurs are ready to get on top of it and try to get City out of the move, with Levy poised to claim at least £150m for the England captain.

Liverpool finished last season 17 points behind champions City, but they are two points away from two points in Premier League So far this season.

And while Carragher thinks Liverpool will be stronger this year with a comeback Virgil van DijkHe also claims City would be “really hard to stop” if Kane landed him.

“Virgil van Dijk is one of the best players in the Premier League, you think [Mohamed] wrongAnd [Kevin] “Five or six players are rated the best, so it’s going to make a huge difference,” said De Bruyne, Kane.

“Don’t forget that last season Liverpool finished season three without a centre-back, so it was a really good achievement at the end.

“Man City is Man City and Liverpool is the only team whose style has collapsed, once in the last four or five years.”

He continued, “It would take a lot to do it again and it took a lot for him to do so Liverpool To win the title, the consistency was incredible.

“But I think, now, City, what they might do next week, I think it’s going to be really hard to stop them if Harry Kane goes there.

“If he doesn’t and they don’t have that recognized striker, I think it’s more than just a fight. I think Chelsea are involved in that and I definitely think Liverpool are involved.”
