What is SharePlay?
Apple’s SharePlay feature lets you watch movies and TV shows with your friends on a face-time call. This feature requires that each participating iPhone and iPad be updated to iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1 or later, respectively.
SharePlay supports Apple TV, Hulu, Disney +, HBO Max, Showtime, Paramount +, MUBI and Pluto TV apps as of November 2021. Remember, you can’t watch movies bought or rented from Apple. TV with others. If you want to do that, participants have to buy or rent it.

How to use share play to watch movies together with friends.
To get started, open the FaceTime app and call FaceTime to your friends. Once the call is connected, go to the home screen of your iPhone or iPad and launch the movie streaming app, like the Apple TV app.
Start a movie and tap the “Play for Everyone” button (human icon with rings on the back) at the top right to invite people.
If you haven’t enabled SharePlay or are using it for the first time, a prompt will ask you to start “SharePlay” or watch a movie with the “Start Only For Me” option.
Other people on the call will be notified of “Join Share Play”, and tapping on it will open the video streaming app (like the Apple TV app) on their iPhone or iPad.
When the relevant app opens, FaceTime participants will have to tap on “Join Share Play” again. After that, you can watch movies with your friends at the same time.
If you want to stop watching movies with your friends, tap the “Play for everyone” button in the upper right corner of the screen in the FaceTime Call menu and select “End SharePlay”. To skip the session and keep others watching the movie, select “End Only for Me”.
All SharePlay participants can play, pause, rewind, or fast forward content on FaceTime calls. However, volume control and closed captions are separate for everyone.

How to automatically start share play on iPhone or iPad.
Whenever you want to watch a movie with friends on FaceTime, you’ll be prompted to start SharePlay, and your friends will be prompted to join SharePlay. This can be tiring if you plan to view a lot of content at once.
To avoid this hassle, enable SharePlay to work automatically on FaceTime. And tell your friends to do the same.
To get started, open the “Settings” app on your iPhone or iPad and go to the “FaceTime” section.
Toggle switch for “SharePlay”.
After enabling SharePlay, you’ll see the “Content Share Play Automatically” notification at the top when you open the Sync video streaming app.
In addition, when participants accept the invitation to join SharePlay, the video streaming opens and the video plays live.
