AHomecast devices are becoming an increasingly popular way to stream content from your phone or computer to the television screen.
Here, we take you through an easy-to-follow guide to set up and use your Chromecast on an Apple device running iOS.
Chromecast is already set up on a different mobile device.
If this is the case and you’ve already configured your Chromecast on your mobile device, you won’t need to reconfigure it, provided the devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
This will be more likely in the future, as computer setup is no longer available for Chromecast.
You need to configure Chromecast on the Apple device.
If your Chromecast device is third generation or older, you’ll need your device, the latest version of the Google Home app, Google Account, HDMI cable and input, power outlet, and Internet connection.
It is also important that your iOS device is fully capable of running the Google Home app with the latest operating system.
Configuring Chromecast on iPhone.
First, you need to plug in the Chromecast and download the Google Home app to your Apple device.
Make sure you have Bluetooth turned on, or alternatively connect your Wi-Fi to your Chromecast device, which will appear as ChromecastXXXX.b. Or similar in your list of available connections.
Open the Google Home app, and the instructions should appear automatically.
If they don’t, go to the top left of the app’s home screen, click Add, then Setup Device and then New Device, and the steps will appear.
This will complete your setup, but if you run into any problems you should try running your Chromecast again, plug in your router and plug it in again, or even If your first two methods are not successful, reset your Chromecast.
